5th Grade Castle Prints
We have been able to work on a print making project in grade 5 the past couple of weeks. Students studied various Gothic style castles and cathedrals and were able to design their own.
First, they made a plan in their journal while looking at different examples of Gothic style castles.
Next, students drew their deign into a piece of Styrofoam and placed onto a piece of paper, applied pressure, and took Styrofoam off paper. Then students had 2-4 prints each!
Inking brayers and rolling onto Styrofoam
Rolling ink onto Styrofoam
Placing Styrofoam onto paper and applying pressure so the ink sticks to paper
Pulling the Styrofoam off the paper! The best part of the whole project, you get to see what you have created!
The final product!
