5th Grade Ecology Field Trip

I was a lucky duck this past Wednesday and was able to attend the beloved 5th grade Ecology field trip. This trip is right in our backyard here at CSDA!  We are SO lucky to have the trails to utilize as well as the Science program Mrs. Penny has offered us to create something as fun and engaging as this experience. I ran station 9, which was the outdoor art station. We looked at artwork by one of my favorite artists, Andy Goldsworthy  and then, we were off to create with using the forest around us. We found lots of decomposing birch trees ( birch bark makes Mrs. Gagne SUPER happy!), acorns, and signs of wildlife. What a day!
A fairy home collaborative evolved!

 And Gnome Homes

A nice little entrance for a fairy to visit
 Spider home!
CSDA spelled out in moss= genius idea!

Outdoor observations with oil pastels when finished creating!
Happy Memorial Day Weekend. We took a moment at our school assembly to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
These poppy flowers were made by 6th grade students for our assembly this morning.
